Came to know from Posta visit,
Your daughter’s marriage, is it?
Gangaram, the groom-to-be?
D’yawant to know, sir, how is he?
Not bad at all, he has spark!
Complexion, though, is pitch-dark.
Moreover, the shape of his face,
Is of an owl, more or less.
Education? Oh, wait, listen,
What a noble persuasion!
To cross ‘matric’ he had aimed.
Stopped after nineteen times failed.
Financially, a bit poor.
Two meals a day’re not sure.
His brothers would make a mark;
One’s mad, the other is jerk!
The third one is out in bail;
He xeroxed notes and went to jail.
The youngest brother plays the drum,
In theatres for a paltry sum.
Ganga himself suffers a lot,
From hepatitis and what not!
But they belong to upper caste.
King Kangsho was their distant past.
Shyam Lahiri from Banagram
Is related to this Gangaram.
Got the gem of a son-in-law.
Not bad, not a single flaw!
